Huvepharma® organized another highly regarded Respiratory Health Seminar for pig vet practitioners on 28 and 29 March 2019. Participants travelled to Ghent, Belgium from several European countries to take part in the two-day event.
All aspects of respiratory infections were discussed with a clear focus on prevention (using climate control and management techniques), diagnostics, eradication programs and treatment protocols.
The crucial role of a vet practitioner in the clinical outcome of an antimicrobial treatment was highlighted. Prof. Geldhof, University of Ghent, also underlined the impact of worm infections on technical performance during his presentation at the seminar.
A valuable practical session with lung lesion scoring, interpretation of macroscopic lesions and histopathology took place in the faculty of veterinary medicine on the second day of the seminar.
