The workshop focuses on the consequences of coccidiosis, diagnosis and monitoring of the clinical and subclinical disease and choosing the appropriate anticoccidial program in the current epidemiological situation. In the last years we also include an external speaker to give updates on related subjects (as necrotic enteritis, antibiotic free production, slow growing birds).
The theoretical part is completed by a practical session which takes place at the Faculty of Veterinary Science at the University of Ghent. In the practical session lesions of coccidiosis and histomoniasis in broilers and turkeys are demonstrated as well as foot pad scoring and diagnostics by means of oocyst counts.
